We hope you all had an amazing summer and are ready to get back to your training!
NEW SCHOOL YEAR REMINDERS
BE ON TIME- Please be considerate of your masters, fellow students and your training by arriving at least 5 minutes BEFORE your class start time.
Please go to the bathroom BEFORE or AFTER class.
If you arrive after warmup, please do 20 pushups before joining the class and apologize to the master or instructor. This is not a punishment, but an important character building opportunity.
DRESS PROPERLY- Please be sure your optional layering shirt is BLACK or WHITE and bottoms are not hanging below your uniform pants.
You may still wear your short sleeve training shirt through October 31st.
Please tie back long or loose hair and leave any watches, hanging jewerly or other accessories by your shoes. This is for your safety and that of your peers.
Please discard of any gum or candy- again for your safety.
BE RESPECTFUL- Please remember to bow at the front door when arriving and leaving the dojang and when entering and leaving the training room. Show respect for your country and your training.
Please remember to bow to any black belts when you meet them and when they enter the training room.
Please respond with “Yes Sir/Ma’am” when addressed by the master/instructor or asked to do something.
That goes for your parents and teachers too- “Yes Mom. Yes Dad. Yes Mr/Mrs…” not “WHAT??”
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY!
BE A CHAMPION OFF THE MAT- Please be kind at school and at your extracurricular activities- if you see another kid with no friends, being picked on, is new or shy, eating lunch alone. We BE KIND AND BRAVE- say hi, ask to sit with them or include them. Become an Upstander, not a bystander. This is the essence of being a champion of life.
We’re excited to have you back and look forward to all we will accomplish together so much this coming school year.
See you on the mat!
